DockATot: A Portable Baby Lounger
With my first two kids, I used a simple Moses basket for when they were really small. It was so nice to be able to take it with me from room to room or to family and friends homes when the baby needed to nap. The only thing I disliked was that I was only able to use it for a short time because the baby grew so fast. Enter the DockATot! I've been seeing a lot of people use these portable loungers so I looked into them myself. What I found convinced me that it would make my life easier in the long run to own one, plus provide a safe environment for my little one. I received the Grand which can be used clear into the toddler stage which means I'll be able to get a lot of use out of it in the next few years! I also love that it has a removable cover that I can throw in the wash in case of spills or other messy accidents.
Binxy Baby: Shopping Cart Hammock
Going to the grocery store with kids can be a handful. Add in a baby in a car seat and you either end up pushing two carts or maybe not having enough room for everything you need. Why? Because you have to put the car seat where you'd normally put all the groceries. I'll admit that I was naive with my first baby and would just put the car seat on top of the cart, assuming the seat would latch on to the frame the same way it does to the base in the car or stroller. But I've since learned that is super unsafe, mainly because it can make the cart top heavy. So instead of risking my baby's safety, I'm really excited to try out this new shopping cart hammock from Binxy Baby! It holds up to 50 lbs and fits most standard shopping carts and you can either use it to put the car seat on top (using the safety strap provided) or put your baby straight into the hammock (buckling them in using the safety strap). It wraps up easily so I can carry it with me in my purse and have it any time I go to the store.
A New Diaper Bag
I've gone through a few diaper bags since I had my first baby six years ago. As my needs have changed, I've needed different bags. This goes for baby #3 as well. With an almost four year gap between my youngest and the new baby, I don't need to carry quite as much, so I opted for a smaller diaper bag with a few less pockets and a more purse like feel to it and the Ergo Baby Grey Walk In The Park bag fit the bill. I actually bought it about four months ago and have been using it since then. My husband also likes it because of the neutral color and he doesn't feel like he's carrying a girly bag around with him. *wink*
The Ollie World: The Smarter Swaddle
After having two kids, I know the value of swaddling. Both my kids slept better and longer when they were swaddled which led to better and more sleep for mom and dad. *wink* One thing that I disliked about swaddling though, was when it came time to change their diaper. I had to unwrap them, possibly disturbing their sleep, just to change their diaper and wrap them back up again. The Smarter Swaddle by The Ollie World has solved this problem by creating a wrap that allows you to access your baby's diaper through the opening in the bottom, leaving your baby cozy and swaddled at the top! Plus, you don't have to buy multiple sizes as your baby grows due to the adjustable straps and added length at the bottom. I love this because it saves us money in the long run!
I'm so excited to start using each of these items when our baby arrives! It's hard to believe it's coming up so quickly.
What else would you add to your own wish list?
This is a great list!! Will be super helpful next baby shower!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the swaddling, super helpful for more sleep for everyone lol. I didn't realize that there was an option for opening just the bottom for diaper changes, that would have helped with my first two babies!
