5 Reasons To Visit Pixar Pier

As you might have heard, Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure is getting a makeover this summer.  Starting June 23rd, guests who visit the Disneyland Resort will be able to enjoy Pixar Pier.  Here, you'll be able to experience thrills, laughter and memories with all of your favorite Pixar pals.  If you're not sure what Pixar Pier is all about, I'm here to give you the scoop!  I've partnered with my friends at Get Away Today to give you 5 reasons to visit Pixar Pier.  Keep reading for an exclusive promo code to use on your next Disneyland vacation package, just for Sunshine & Munchkins readers.

Incredicoaster

If you were down about California Screamin' leaving Disney California Adventure forever, you should turn that sadness into joy.  The Incredicoaster is sure to be, well, incredible!  During this attraction, you'll be able to help the Incredible family rescue Jack-Jack who's on the loose.  With twists, turns and surprises around every corner, you'll want to ride it again and again.  In addition to the new coaster, guests will be able to experience a new Incredible-themed queuing area as well.  While we are still waiting for more details to be released about this attraction, I'm sure that fans of California Screamin' won't be disappointed.

Because this attraction is bound to be "super" popular once it debuts, I would highly recommend taking advantage of Disney's MaxPass if you're planning on traveling after it premiers.  MaxPass will allow you to reserve your FastPasses directly from your smart phone, so you won't need to worry about waiting in line at a FastPass distribution center.  MaxPass will be well worth the $10 per person/day cost to be able to experience this coaster without a long wait!

Lamplight Lounge

The Lamplight Lounge will be a unique and casual dining experience for guests of all ages.  The Lamplight Lounge will serve gastro pub food inspired by California culture.  Luckily they will continue to serve the beloved Lobster Nachos made famous by The Cove Bar.  The Lamplight Lounge will also have a variety of Pixar-themed sketches, knick-knacks and trinkets distributed throughout the restaurant.  Here, you'll be able to be immersed into the creative world of a Pixar artist while enjoying delicious food and drink.  Plus you never know, you might even be sitting right next to one while you're at the Lamplight Lounge!

New Neighborhoods

While the layout of Pixar Pier remains the same as Paradise Pier, Disney has announced that there will be new neighborhoods that guests can visit.  Each neighborhood will be themed after famous Pixar movies, such as The Incredibles, Toy Story, Inside Out and an area that celebrates all Pixar stories.  At each of these neighborhoods, you'll be able to experience re-imagined attractions, character meet and greets, shopping and more.  Plus, you'll still be able to enjoy all of your favorite games on the boardwalk which will now be themed to represent various Pixar stories and characters.

Mickey's Fun Wheel

California Screamin' isn't the only attraction that will be getting a makeover for Pixar Pier.  Mickey's Fun Wheel will be transformed into the Pixar Pal-A-Round, with themed gondolas featuring some of your favorite Pixar pals!  While Mickey's face will remain in the center of the wheel, you'll be able to go "UP" above Disney California Adventure in adorable new gondolas.

Dining and More

If this isn't enough, there will also be several new quick-service kiosks at Pixar Pier that you can stop at to get a delicious treat or meal throughout the day.  Poultry Palace, Angry Dogs, Senor Buzz Churros and Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats will all make their debut on June 23, 2018.  Each of these kiosks will have a variety of items, like turkey legs, hot dogs, churros and frozen treats that will be sure to satisfy your taste buds.

Luckily, Pixar Pier is here to stay in Disney California Adventure for "Infinity and Beyond."  However if you're looking to celebrate your love of Pixar even more, make sure you visit Disneyland during Pixar Fest.  From now until September 3rd, 2018, you can experience Pixar-themed decor, limited time merchandise and dazzling entertainment.  Enjoy fan favorite parades like Paint the Night and the Pixar Play Parade.  Plus, enjoy an immersive nighttime show, "Together Forever--A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular."

  1. I loved Pixar films as a kid so a whole part of the park devoted to them sounds like a lot of fun. I'll have to remember this if I'm ever in California
